Resin is one of the two main materials used to build wax cartridges and waxes, the other being paper. Resin is a type of plastic. While traditional plastic has not yet been utilized in wax form, resin is used to build the cartridge.

Waxes and cartridges are common items used in waxing. They are constructed of hot, melted wax that is attached to a core of paper or foil. The heated metal develops a arc that holds the deposited oil. This oil is then smooth and dry before being smoothed out again.

The process can be tricky, as some people cannot tell the difference between a new cartridge and old one with an identical look and feel.

Concurrent compounds

When resin is created from the tree or plant source, it is important to know if it contains competing compounds.

Rhodianis, the genus from which most waxes are extracted, includes two compounds: a sugar and a fat. The waxes are typically made of 56% sugar and 44% fat.

The presence of competing compounds is important when using a wax as an embelishment. If one does not exist, then there may be no barrier between the skin and cannabis, creating potential for dryness and cracking.

Additionally, some competing compounds may interfere with other materials used for decoration such as paint or casserole plates. It is recommended that they are used in conjunction with plastic to prevent any direct contact with the cannabis material.

Taste

While both resins and waxes can be consumed, useds tend to come in different flavors. Typically, flavor-changing drugs like ecstasy or Xanax are not classified as resin or wax, but instead of a product that can be smoked, it is more of a liquid that can be smoked.

While some drugs are labeled resin or wax, these two terms do not refer to the same thing. Resin refers to a solidified liquid content found in resin Japanese vinegars and sauces, while wax refers to a soft, nonreactive material found in traditional arts like writing and sculpture.

As an aside, although traditional arts like writing and sculpture use wax rather than resin, both can be used. Just remember that the softness helps preserve the message rather than defeat the purpose of using faux wood for the sake of texture.

Effect

Resin is a synthetic material that can be made into anything, including wax. Resin can be created in many temperatures and styles, making it the perfect material to create your next box of sticks or bongs!

Weighing more than sand, resin requires special care and is more durable than wax, however. If you are looking to experiment with resins, do so safely. Only use very small amounts at first to test the waterline of the resin and whether or not it works for you.

Wax does not break down as easily as resin does, so if you are looking to start off with something simple, use less wax! Some people have reported problems with resins breaking down, causing excessive spending and toxicity.

Smell

When wax is used, it is important that someone does not cancel out the smell of the concentrate. Due to the smell being a feature of wax, some people prefer to smell it before they get into the task of applying it.

Live resin contains traces of medicinal cannabis compounds like cannabinoids. These traces of medicine make the resin smell slightly different than conventional wax, making this an enjoyable change. Some people enjoy the texture and feel of live resin compared to conventional wax.

Some cannabis users prefer the scent of concentrated cannabis on purpose. When this happens, it is important to have a spare nosegay or piece of tissue for them to grab a piece of Cannabis dust!

Bullet point: Cost vs. Effectiveness> Cost vs.

Live resin is more pure than wax

Resin is a common material used to create lipstick, glue, and some clay products. Resin can be seen as the “caramella” of cannabis products, as it can change color and/or texture depending on the product.

Wax is more common material used to make candles, taffetas, andorgetowns. It cannot be changed to a different color or texture like resin can. However, wax has limited properties compared to resin such as its non-vaporizing ability and the fact that it takes time to dry completely.

Because of this, most people use wax for their topcoatstyle of cannabis consumption.

Cost

Resin is typically much more expensive than wax. Most resins are made from petroleum, which is a natural gas source. Therefore, a plastic bag may be the next cost savings option for growers and consumers!

Many resins are produced using cheap grades of plastic, which may not be ideal for growing plants. If a manufacturer used better grade plastic, the grower might use more resin to fill the bag.

Additionally, some resins are difficult to turn into wax due to process specifications. Some manufacturers require special equipment or skills to create wax with their resin.

Easy to handle?

Resin is typically harder, thus more difficult to remove without assistance.

How do you use it?

Resin products are typically sticky or leave a ‘resin’ style stick to which you must brush or wipe down to use. Wax can be melt or wax only.

Wax only products can be tricky to use as you need to make sure it is completely melted and dry before using. However, the general consensus is that live resins are better quality than wax only products.

Because of this, users tend to prefer wax only cannabis for social purposes due to the more consistent smell and quality of the drug. Moreover, users say that live resins tend to have a better “mouthfeel” or “taste” which is what you feel when they hit your mouth and lips together.
