Dabbing is a form of drug use developed to replace the experience of smoking a cigarette with the addition of a dab rig. Like smoking a cigarette, you are inhaling combustion products, such as smoke, into your lungs.

There are several ways to do dabbing. You can mount a hollow stem device on your vaporizer and place your concentrate inside the device using ancillary supplies such as heat transfer probes and oven thermistor devices. You can also use e-liquids or vape juice formulated specifically for dabbing.

Using solvents is best for doing precision work like cutting and stacking layers of wax or using different techniques like airblasting or firebusting. Using heat sources such as bongs, bubblers, and burners are also important in doing work properly.

This article will discuss some basic tools users need to get started in the field of precision precision dabbing.

Isolator dab tips

Isolator tips are a unique dab form that can be used with several types of dab devices. These tips can be placed on standard vape pens or devices, or more specialized devices like the iStrips or iSlims.

Vape pens are generally not good at getting a good hit because the vapors do not stay in the pen. Due to this, doing a second hit is very hard and may require taking your attention away from your first hit.

Because of this, only being able to do one hit per pass through your rig per cloud means less time for second hits or take-a-breaks!

It is also important to note that using isolator tips will give you a slightly different look at your hits as the vape tip does not stay in place well and comes out wavy.

Carb cap dab tips

As discussed earlier, standard carb cap tips are good options if you are new to dabbing. These can be broken into two groups: thick or thin, short or long, and plain or printed.

Short, thin tips are better for quickly building a few hits of concentrate. Longer tips can take more time to heat up and inhale.

Plain printed tips are good if you have a sola-style rig or use a paper pin instead of a dabber. Having some kind of mark or reminder shows you have reached your limit with the amount of time it takes to smoke out the piece!

Both standard carb cap tips and thickened carb cap tips can be used with any type of nail. Standard carb cap tips do not require special nails, whereas thickened carb cap tips do.

Understanding THC content in dabs

When it comes to the THC content of dab, there are two main components that matter when it comes to creating a THC-rich dab. The first is the ratio of wax to liquid, and the second is the quality of the liquid.

The ratio of wax to liquid is fairly simple to compare: A ratio of 1:1 (or more) works better than a slightly lower one, and a very low one like 0.5%: Such a low concentration would be almost impossible to vaporize effectively.

The quality of the liquid matters too! A good quality liquid will not only prevent water extractions, but also give you a longer session of highness.

What is a quartz nail?

A quartz nail is a device used for dabbing. A nail has two long, thin sections that are inserted into a dabbing device and then pressed down onto the material to be smoked.

Quartz nails were originally created as a way to measure heat when smoking cannabis. Because the cannabis crystal is so cold when it is inserted into the nail, it must be heated by the smoker’s hand or flame to become heated.

The process of smoking cannabis with a quartz nail is referred to as dabbing. Dabbing can be done using paper, vape pens, or even devices such as an underwater tank style dab rig. It can be very relaxing to do as you lie back and let the effects take over!

There are many ways to use quartz nails for dabs. You can use them with different heights of Cannabis to create different experiences.

What is a titanium nail?

A titanium nail is a specialized dab tool that can be used for making a nail-like hit. These nails can be rotated to face in or out, and configured in many ways.

One of the most common shapes used with titanium nails is a palm-sized square. Configured this way, a titanium nail can mimic the shape of an herb or plant.

The other popular shape that is configured this way is an elongated circle. This configuration makes use of more space behind the nail to coat the herb or plant.

Both squares and circles are commonly configured with glue or tape around the edge to protect the nail from being bent or stolen.

Are all dabs equal?

While there are both disposable and pre-made dab forms available, the way you use a dab form can make a big difference in how you compare brands.

Some users prefer to put their material in a larger bowl to coat the dab and prepare it for smoking, or to spread the heat more evenly. Others like to use a smaller bowl with less space for decoration.

Other users like to sit the dab on a countertop or other surface to hold the heat more evenly. Either way, having different dabs sized for different users can be important.

What is the best way to consume dabs?

Consuming a dab is determined by whether or not you have the dab form or travel dab kit. If you have a kit, you can use the dabs that are in your kit to consume!

If you do not have a dab form or travel kit, then the best way to consume is by using a device such as an iPhone or Android device. You can use any battery strength device as long as it has an internet connection.

You can also mix and match between devices if there is too much taken on one type of device. For example, if my phone and my computer have both had too much time connected, then I must take away one of those connections to equalize the amount of time consumed.

Finally, you can also do DIRECT DABES! These are usually done with nail polish remover tabs or pencils dipped in wax and smoked (sometimes with additional flames) into the hashish. These require less preparation and more times consumption.

How do I smoke a dab?

Smoking a dab is similar to smoking a cigarette. You will pick up some smoke with every hit, and the flavor will be increased by the concentrate.

There are two main ways to smoke a dab: using a thumbindle dab tool or using a vape device. Both methods allow you to pick your temperature and inhale your concentrate.

Using a thumbindle tool allows for more variability in temperature as well as more precise inhalation. Some users find that they need to use more wax to get the same effect as using a less precise tool can result in less gain of wax.

We recommend starting with the thumbindle tools and work your way down if needed.
